Starting a trial or subscription

To start backing up data using Server Backup - Public Cloud, you must start a Server Backup trial or subscription, and set up Server Backup for each customer or site. If you manage products using Secure Cloud, see Starting a trial in Secure Cloud. If you manage products using the Management Console, see Getting started in the Management Console.

IMPORTANT: Before using Server Backup, you must set up cloud storage for the backup data. See Setting up Server Backup storage.

During a free 30-day trial, you can use all Server Backup functionality. You can install the Server Backup agent on an unlimited number of servers, back up and restore data, monitor processes, and run reports. You can convert or upgrade the trial to a paid subscription and continue backing up servers without reconfiguring backups.

After starting a trial or subscription for a site, you can install the Server Backup agent on each server or device where you want to back up data and enter the keycode for that site. The agent then contacts the Management Console to obtain the site's storage location and policy, and backs up data as specified by the storage location and policy. See Installing and managing agents.
